How to Buy a Men's Ring Online in Australia: A 7-Point Checklist

Buying a ring online saves money and gives you far more choice than a shopping-centre jeweller, but you can't try it on. These seven checks cover what matters: the right material, the right size, and a seller who'll look after you if something goes wrong.

1. Choose the material first
- Tungsten: scratch-proof and heavy; can't be resized. Tungsten rings

2. Check width, fit and finish
6mm suits most men for daily wear; 8mm is bolder. Comfort fit (rounded inside) is easier to wear all day. Brushed finishes hide wear better than polished ones.
3. Get your size, in the right system

4. Read the returns policy before you pay
Policies vary a lot. Check how long you have, whether change-of-mind and wrong-size returns are accepted, whether sale items are excluded, and who pays return postage. 5. Check plating and stones are described honestly
At under $200, "gold", "18k" or "rose gold" usually describes a coating or detailing over tungsten, titanium or steel. That's fine, as long as it's clear. The same goes for stones: the listing should say what they are.
6. Look for reviews that look real
- Dated reviews with specific details and customer photos
- A spread of ratings, not only five stars
- Reviews on independent platforms such as Google, not only the store's own site
7. Check delivery and contact details
